About Annie
Annie’s passion for lactation care began after her own struggles breastfeeding her first child in 2007. The support she received led her to volunteer with La Leche League, where she facilitated meetings in western Queens from 2009-2016.
After becoming board-certified as an IBCLC in 2011, Annie established her own private practice. In 2019, she expanded her vision and founded City Lactation, creating a collaborative space for lactation support.

Marie is 10 months now, and such a happy baby. I’m still breastfeeding her twice a day, and we’ve managed to keep her off formula till now. She’s eating vegetables, bread, rice, cheese, beans, …. she’s crawling, walking while holding onto things, and she said her first words when she turned 8 months. She’s waving, dancing, and soon curious – she accepts strangers straight away, because everything is so exciting to her. In other words, we’ve been super lucky, and I truly believe her diet has something to do with it, so: THANK YOU!

I just put Tegan down for a nap and was thinking about how incredibly understanding and helpful you were during a really difficult time. Thank you so much! Really, I don’t know what we would have done.

Jonah just self weaned at a little short of 3 1/2 and we both seem totally content with it. I’ll always be grateful for your home visit and all your support when I was very near my breaking point. It was absolutely key in turning it all around.

Annie did a comprehensive exam on my baby regarding her difficulty nursing. She also showed me how to latch and how to set my Spectra for maximum comfort. Her family-centered approach reduces stress on me.

We look forward to continuing to work with her as we continue to learn and improve!

Annie is excellent at what she does! My current second breastfeeding journey has been colored by my first one, which was riddled with anxiety and stress, and Annie shows up in a non-anxious way to calmly and expertly address my concerns. I walked out of our appointment more confident and capable that this second journey will be different. Thank you, Annie!

Annie is kind, compassionate, experienced, and very thorough. As a first-time mom whose baby was in the NICU I felt very overwhelmed with feeding my baby. I had always envisioned having a strong breast feeding relationship with my baby but he would not latch. I was not producing enough milk and had to supplement with formula. Annie did not make me feel guilty for supplementing with formula and taught me ways to increase my breast milk supply. She also introduced several methods to make latching easier for my baby. She also identified a tongue tie that my pediatrician did not find as my baby was gaining weight on his own. She made a recommendation for an excellent surgeon and speech pathologist. I HIGHLY recommend Annie’s expertise to a mom looking for lactation support. Annie is an expert in her field and will make you feel comfortable.

Annie has been a tremendous help to our growing family. We’re so grateful for her. Annie is full of knowledge and helpful, giving us an abundance of tools, advice, and guidance we needed to navigate through the first few months with our newborn. She helped put all our worries and concerns at ease. Having Annie by our side gave us the confidence to make better informed decisions on how we wanted to raise and nurture our newborn baby. Thank you!

During my prenatal visit, I was immediately put at ease. I did not feel awkward. Even through zoom, the compassion came through and it did not feel like I was talking to a stranger. The amount of information was amazing, and I did not feel alone in this breastfeeding journey. I had a horrible experience trying to breastfeed my first child and for nearly three years, I have struggled with guilt over that experience. Yet for the first time, I realize that I was not doing anything wrong; rather, I lacked the support system I needed. I do not know what is going to happen when my baby is born; however, I am more comfortable and confident, and I will definitely use City Lactation after the birth.

It was a great pleasure to work with Annie for both my children. She provided great information and help in the early days of parenthood when it’s hard to make sense of a lot of what’s going in. She is a great listener and always give you the support needed to do what’s best for you and baby. Her knowledge is so deep and I highly recommend her to anyone looking to work with a lactation consultant.

Annie was really easy to talk to and approachable. She was able to help address a tongue tie and feeding issues even virtually. Talking with her really helped me feel comfortable in my new role as a mom and eased my concerns about breastfeeding.

Annie was wonderful. Her manner is lovely and soothing to a newly postpartum, hormonal parent, and she is knowledgeable and supportive. The advice she relayed was clear, concise, and non-judgmental. The appointment was comprehensive and holistic and at the end I felt like all my concerns were addressed and then some. Couldn’t recommend her more highly!

Because of my work with you, I know that I’m a breastfeeding mom. I have bene able to connect with Ava in a unique way that I’ll cherish forever. Even though it wasn’t exactly how I wanted, but it was exactly how it needed to be. You met me where I was physically and emotionally and took all of that into consideration for our plan.

I really appreciated the way that Annie gave me a lot of space to talk through my concerns before beginning to provide her advice–she really employed active listening and allowed me to go through my long list of questions. At the end, I thought her responses and plan seemed appropriate to the situation. I also think she never seemed to provide her personal beliefs and seemingly stuck to fact based/prior experience recommendations. Furthermore, I really appreciated how even though we went over time a bit, there was no rush on her part to finish the session and she let me bring up every topic I needed to. Will return and recommend!

Annie is an experienced lactation consultant local to the LIC neighborhood. She came highly recommended from another mom and I am so glad to have had her support in navigating nursing for my newborn. She is flexible in her advice. She does not push anything and is open to working with your preferences in finding the best solution for mom and baby!

Annie is the third lactation consultant that I have worked with on my breastfeeding journey. After working with Annie I finally felt like I found the right fit. She is extremely professional and knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable from the start. She answered all my questions that I had and created a specific care plan to address our needs. She is always available to answer any questions via the patient portal. My anxieties around breastfeeding have greatly improved with Annie’s help. I would highly recommend her to anyone on their breastfeeding journey. She has also been able to give me referrals to other great practitioners to assist me and my child which has been extremely helpful. If I am blessed with another child, I will certainly be reaching out to Annie again in the future.

The moment Annie walked into my home, she carried with her a sense of calm, professionalism, and assurance. As a first time mom, the hormones, the anxiety, and uncertainty was overflowing. Annie helped ease all concerns and gave me the confidence I had been lacking. My mom and Annie sat on the floor of the nursery as I nursed my son and it was within that moment that we exchanged tears of raw emotion. I had never cried so openly with a stranger but Annie didn’t feel like one at all. I am grateful for the opportunity and serendipitous turn of events that lead to our session! I hope to work with Annie again!

Annie is the third lactation consultant I’ve worked with. She was the first to notice my son’s tongue tie and work with me to find the right surgeon and follow up after care. I’ve worked through mastitis, recurrent clogs, vasospasms and painful latches with her, and without her advice and patient, knowledgeable manner I am not sure I would still be breastfeeding my son. We finally have gotten into a groove and I couldn’t be happier. Thank you Annie!

I truly am so thankful that we had your support in the early days of breastfeeding. After a disastrous experience with not being able to nurse or produce enough milk the first time, I didn’t trust myself I would be able to this time. But I did it! He and I did it together, with support from you! And still going on demand a year later. 💜

Besides all technical help you gave us, what helped me the most was remembering to take care of myself so I could give it a fair shot. What you gave us was the knowledge, confidence and support that we needed, and we are still living off this continued strength you instilled in us from the first few weeks. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I was a wreck when I met with Annie, and she was completely cool and calm, providing practical help while also helping me reframe my experience as a failure. Annie stood out for her evidence-based recommendations, measured communication of ideas and opinions that don’t (can’t) have a strong evidence base, and for her psychosocial support and respect for me and for my baby.

I was dealing with a lot stress about my breastfeeding journey and Annie came to my life at the right time to provide me with reassurance. She helped me with positioning and that improved our mommy-baby bonding. She is very knowledgeable and caring. She listened to all my concerns and helped me develop the perfect plan of care. I live in Nj and I did not mind traveling to queens. Thanks for all your support.

Heard about Annie through a common friend. She was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of insight into our situation. She was very responsive even post my visit and continued to check on how I was doing. Her recommendations helped me recover soon and gave us new ways to help our son.

I had gone to three other lactation consultants before I found City Lactation. I had a low supply and couldn’t understand why, despite trying everything out there to increase my milk, I still wasn’t producing enough. Annie was kind, compassionate and so knowledgable. She listened to what was going on with me, was able to quickly troubleshoot what might be the problem, and recommended I do bloodwork which revealed a signification hormonal barrier to producing milk, in my case. She has a world of resources and provided empathy and compassion when needed the most. I highly recommend working with City Lactation!

Annie was a godsend right on time. She listened, affirmed, and provided options much like, or even better than, a therapist. We were provided with several tools, tips, resources, and referrals to help both me and my daughter in the breastfeeding journey. I didn’t know that this journey would be a physical one, as well as a mental and emotional one, and I feel more confident and prepared to support myself and my little one.

Loved working with Annie! She is incredibly knowledgeable and took time to explain the background/science behind the challenges we were having, instead of just jumping to recommended solutions. Her care plans were extremely detailed and I found the resources she shared very helpful. I also really appreciated that she met me where I was in the breastfeeding journey – exclusive breastfeeding wasn’t working for our family, so she helped me figure out how to get the most out of breastfeeding and formula in combination (not the kind of empathy I experienced with other lactation consultants).
