About Annie Frisbie MA, IBCLC, PMH-C
Annie Frisbie (she/her) is the founder and owner of City Lactation. She became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2011, and in 2023 earned the Perinatal Mental Health Certification through Postpartum Support International.

Annie began her career in lactation after the birth of her older child in 2007. The struggles she faced and the support she received inspired her to begin volunteering with La Leche League, and she led meetings in western Queens from 2009-2016.
After passing the exam to become a board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) in 2011, Annie went directly into private practice on her own. In 2019, she incorporated and launched City Lactation because she highly values collaboration with others.
Annie also creates tools, training and continuing education for private practice lactation consultants and cohosts a podcast called Lactation Business Coaching.
She has spoken locally, nationally, and internationally on topics related to lactation consultant private practice and is considered an expert in HIPAA, the use of technology in healthcare, insurance contracting and reimbursement, and the business of private practice.

In 2018, Annie was awarded the United States Lactation Consultant Association’s President’s Award for demonstrating extraordinary service to the profession. She is an active member of the New York Lactation Consultant Association.
She holds a Masters of Arts degree from New York University in Cinema Studies, and is a proud member of the Writers’ Guild of America, East. Her screenwriting credits include Speak (starring Kristen Stewart) and Hallmark’s The Good Witch’s Destiny. She lives in Woodside, Queens with her husband, their two teenagers, and their two cats Frank & Roxie.
